Everybody enjoys camping when it’s nice and warm outside.  During the warm weather, you can go canoeing, whitewater rafting, bicycling, and many other fun activities.  However, without the proper gear, your camping trip can be turned miserable.

Clothing:

  • T-Shirts
  • Wicking shirts (Under Armour, Champion, etc. or shirts provided by your troop)
  • Sweatshirt
  • Shorts
  • Pants
  • Hiking boots and a pair of comfortable sneakers
  • Hat
  • Poncho/other raingear
  • Underwear
  • Socks (bring a lot of socks)

Equipment:

  • Sleeping bag/warm blanket
  • Sleeping pad (a must)
  • Ground cloth/tarp (if not provided by your troop)
  • WATER BOTTLE (You should drink at least a gallon every day in warm weather)
  • Camelbak® (replaces a waterbottle.  A camelbak naturally makes you drink more because you can just drink from the straw-like thing that is attached to the shoulder of your backpack instead of having to unclip a waterbottle from the inside of your pack)
  • Matches
  • Compass
  • First-aid kit
  • Day Pack
  • Insect Repellant
  • Sunscreen
  • Whistle and small mirror

Hygiene/Toiletries

  • Toothbrush/toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Facecloth
  • Floss
  • Anti-perspirant (deodorant)
  • GOLD BOND powder (Bring it.  You will definately need it during warm weather trips.)
  • Razor (if you got a ‘stache)
